Obituary of Dorcas Lentz

Dorcas C. Lentz Mrs. Lentz, 96, of Charlotte died Sunday, February 6, 2011 at her residence. A Charlotte native, Mrs. Lentz was born May 26, 1914, a daughter of the late William C. Caldwell Sr. and Carrie Nixon Caldwell. She was a graduate of Tech High School class of 1933 and was a U.S. Navy veteran of WW II. Mrs. Lentz was a member of Providence United Methodist Church. Dorcas was a loving wife, sister and mother. She enjoyed sewing and taking care of her family. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lentz was preceded in death by her husband of thirty two years Loy Lentz, Sr. in 1984 as well as three sisters and two brothers. Surviving are her son; Loy Lentz of Charlotte and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. A service to celebrate her life will be held Thursday, February 10, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Providence United Methodist Church with the Reverend Dr. William Jeffries officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Graveside service for Mrs. Lentz will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, February 17, 2011, in Stony Point United Methodist Church Cemetery, 311 Ruritan Park Road, Stony Point, NC 28678 Memorials may be made to the Columbarium Fund at Providence United Methodist Church, 2810 Providence Road, Charlotte, North Carolina 28211.
