Obituary of Doug Ratteerree

Charles Douglas ?Doug? Ratteerree, Sr. Mr. Ratteerree, age 74 was born February 18, 1937 in York County, SC. He was the son of the late Frank and Betty Ratteerree Sanders, died February 26, 2011. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Jewell in July 2006. He moved to Gaston/Mecklenburg county at a very young age. Mr. Ratteerree was an active member of Eastway Baptist Church and was retired from Reichhold Chemical Company and The Virkler Company both located in Charlotte, NC. Survivors include a brother Johnny Ratteerree, a sister Dottye Ratteerree Brimhall both of Mecklenburg County. His three children, a son Charles Douglas Ratteerree, Jr. of Mecklenburg County, a daughter, Kimberly Elaine Ratteerree Arrendale of Lincoln County and son Timothy Lee Ratteerree of Gaston County. Four grandchildren. Two step children Steve and Scott Stevenson, and two step grandchildren all of Mecklenburg County. Doug wants everyone to know that he and his late wife Jewell loved their children and grandchildren very much. Their hopes and prayers are that they will see all of them in Heaven. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in the name of Doug and Jewell Ratteerree to Eastway Baptist Church, 2749 Eastway Drive, Charlotte, NC. 28205. A service to celebrate his life will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at Eastway Baptist Church with the Reverend Michael Owens officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
