James ?Jim? Preston Bishop Jim Bishop, 78 of Charlotte died Sunday, February 27, 2011 at Pineville Living and Rehab Center. Jim was born January 19, 1933, in Clearwater, FL to the late Preston and Margaret Drynan Bishop. Jim, a US Army veteran, was a graduate of Florida State University where he became a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. Following his graduation from college, Jim pursued a successful career in restaurant and food service management. During this time, he managed a number of notable restaurants in Atlanta, New Orleans and Charlotte. Following his career in restaurant management, Jim continued to serve others, but in a very special way. He was a member of Amethyst/Charlotte Treatment Center and found great joy in helping others to overcome their addictions. We remember Jim for his joyful and positive outlook on life. He was a dedicated member of St. Ann Catholic Church and had many passions, but his greatest passion was his family and friends. In everyone he touched, he was truly a gift from God as a son, brother, uncle and friend. In addition to his parents Jim was preceded in death by his brother-in-law James Young in 2010. Survivors include his sisters, Nancy Ann Bishop and Judy Bishop Young of Lexington, NC; niece, Wendy Young of Houston, TX: nephews, Michael Young of High Point, NC and Preston Young and his wife, Dana and their children Connor and Morgan of Cumming, GA.
