Obituary of Howard Rape

Howard Kenyon Rapé Mr. Rapé, 87, of Concord, NC died Sunday, February 27, 2011 at Avante of Concord. Howard was born January 19, 1924 in Union County, NC son of the late Arthur and Mary Penninger Rapé. Mr. Rapé was a graduate of Old Central High School and was a US Navy veteran of WW II. He was employed with Snow White Cleaner for 36 years prior to his retirement and enjoyed woodworking. In addition to his parents Mr. Rapé was preceded in death by four brothers, one sister a grandchild and a step-daughter. Survivors include his wife, Betty P. Rapé; daughters, Janice Gatti and husband, Tom, Lisa Stroymeyer and Teri Thompkins and husband, Billy; son, Tommy Rapé and wife, Heather; brothers, Bob Raye and Herman Rapé; stepdaughters, Karen Phillips and husband, Alex and Shelia Baucom. Also surviving are fifteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and his cousin James May. The family would like to thank Myra Dunlap and Kim Patterson for all their help and assistance. A service to celebrate Howard?s life will be held 7:00 PM Wednesday, March 2, 2011at Pine Grove Baptist Church. The family will receive friends following the service.
