Obituary of Elefteria Koucouliotes

Elefteria Katopodis Koucouliotes ?Effie? Mrs. Koucouliotes, 88, passed away Thursday, March 31, 2011 at her home in Charlotte, NC. Born June 20, 1923 in Lefkas, Greece, Mrs Koucouliotes came to the United States in 1952 and made her home in Charlotte for the remainder of her life. She was a beloved mother, wife and perfect lady. She happily worked at Kings Drug Store for many years serving her wonderful customers. Surviving Mrs. Koucouliotes are her husband, George Koucouliotes; son, Billy Koucouliotes of Charlotte; daughter, Joane Pastravia and her husband, Pedro of Charlotte; and daughter, Nickie Cheek of Naples, Italy. Also surviving Mrs. Koucouliotes is her beloved grandson, Zack Cheek of Naples, Italy. She is survived by four brothers, Bill, Phillip, Art and Paul Katopodis; sister, Lula Katopodis and sister-in-law, Nickie Pippos, all of Charlotte. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, April 4, 2011 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral with Father Michael Varvarelis, Father Tommy Vlahos and Father Philemon Patitsas officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The trisagion will be Sunday evening at 7:00 PM at the Cathedral. Pallbearers will be Jimmy, John, Danny and Nick Katopodis, Tommy Holevas, Pete Macronis, Mark Smith and Nick Ballas.
