Obituary of Polly Prince

Polly Caldwell Prince, of Charlotte, NC died April 3, 2011 at White Oak Manor. She was born in Spartanburg, SC on January 26, 1914, daughter of Mary and Robert Judson Caldwell. Mrs. Prince graduated from Spartanburg High School and Cecil?s Business College. She joined PSI in Greensboro, NC in 1956 and served in many capacities. In 1971 she transferred to the Charlotte Chapter of PSI and served as President in 1971-1972 and later was a charter member of the Metrolina Chapter. Mrs. Prince was employed by Robert Lassiter, Jr. attorney-at-law as executive secretary for over 25 years. After retirement she volunteered at Presbyterian Orthopaedic Hospital for over 10 years as well as volunteered at Myers Park Presbyterian Church where she was a member for over 40 years. Mrs. Prince is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Peggy Prince Allen and Claude D. Allen of Petersburg, Virginia; son, James R. Prince III of Chattanooga, Tennessee; two grandsons, Christopher Caldwell Allen and Brian Edward Allen, both of Virginia; two nieces, Lynn G. Foster of Clifton, VA and Betty Caldwell Fant of Texas. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Prince was preceded in death by two sisters, Nell Powell and Frances Garvie; a brother, Howard B. Caldwell; and one nephew, Marvin Caldwell. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, April 7, 2011, at Myers Park Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Deborah Conner officiating. The family will receive friends at the church following the service in the narthex.
