Obituary of John Jones

John Jones Mr. Jones, 75, of Annette, WV, passed away on May 4, 2011. He was born on October 20, 1936 in Glendaniels, WV to the late Jack and Essie Jones. He was retired from the City of Charlotte Department of Sanitation after twenty years of service. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Jones; his sister, Vacie; and a brother, Bill. Mr. Jones is survived by his loving children, Gail Elrod, Lynn Coon and her husband, Charles, Johnnie Belinda Jones, and Sandra Pitchford; seven grandchildren, Belinda, Shannon, Misty, Charlie, Mindy, Jason and Michael; his sister Alice; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Hankins & Whittington Funeral Service, 1111 East Blvd. Charlotte, NC 28203. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens, Mint Hill. The family will receive friends, Tuesday for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
