Obituary of Catherine Crocker

Catherine Chambers Crocker Mrs. Crocker, 85, of Charlotte, NC completed her life Friday, May 13, 2011, at White Oak Manor. She peacefully passed with her family and friends by her side. Catherine was born in York, SC, October 26, 1925, daughter of the late Willie Reeves and Kate Jackson Chambers. Mrs. Crocker grew up in Rock Hill, SC and moved to Charlotte in 1959. She was a member of Forest Hill Church and most recent, Albemarle Road Presbyterian Church. To those who knew Catherine, she leaves the legacy of a life dedicated to the power of prayer. From so many answered prayers, most people thought that she had a direct line to God. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Crocker; brothers, Willie and Robert Chambers; and sister, Nolie White. Mrs. Crocker is survived by her son, Tim Crocker and his wife Lori, of Charlotte; grandchildren, Jason Crocker, Amy Thompson and Blake Crocker, all of Charlotte; and great-grandchildren, Carson, Cara, and Brianna Crocker, all of Charlotte. A funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, May 17, 2011, in the Chapel of Hankins & Whittington Funeral Service with interment following in Laurelwood Cemetery, Rock Hill, SC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Albemarle Road Presbyterian Church, at 6740 Albemarle Rd., Charlotte, NC 28212. The family would like to thank the staff and friends at White Oak Manor, for all of their wonderful support given to Catherine over the years and shown to us during this difficult time.
