Obituary of Edna Adams

Edna Eppley Adams Mrs. Adams, 94, of Charlotte died June 18, 2011 at Care Bridge Assisted Living in Mt. Pleasant, NC. She was born September 8, 1916, in Greenville, SC a daughter of the late John and Bertha Hill Eppley. Edna was a graduate of Charlotte Technical High School and was employed with the Mecklenburg County Tax Collector?s Office for 20 years until retiring in 1981. Mrs. Adams was a life long member of Whiting Avenue Baptist Church and taught the Son Light Sunday school class for many years. She had a great sense of humor and enjoyed quilting and crocheting. In addition to her parents Mrs. Adams was preceded in death by her husband, Dub; daughter, Shirley Harris; sisters, Mary Black and Margaret Brown, and brothers, Alwin Eppley, Fred Eppley, and Leonard Eppley. Survivors include her grand children; Rodney and Teresa Gulledge of Gold Hill, NC, Douglas and Susan Harris of Midland, NC, Jeanne Gray of Concord, NC, Jill Smith of Charlotte, NC and Kenny and Patti Norris of Midland, NC; great-grandchildren, Rodney Gulledge, Wayne and Corinne Harris, Jason and Tonya Harris, Jimmy and Stephanie Moreau, A.J. and Kimberly Patterson, Jessica Epps, Stephen and Michele Gray, Jody and Sarah Funderburke, Daniel Norris, Thomas Norris, and Hannah Smith; great-great grandchildren, Zoey Epps, Zachary Epps, Zahn Epps, Reagan Goodwin, Alyssa Moreau, Ethan Moreau, Evan Moreau, Dakota Funderburke, Cole Harris, and Olivia Harris. A service to celebrate her life will be held 2:00 PM Friday, June 24, 2011, in the Dilworth Chapel of Hankins & Whittington Funeral Service with the Reverend Mitch Wilson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Her great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow in Sharon Memorial Park.
