Margaret Maxine Wright Richbourg ?Oh heart, if one should say to you that the soul perishes like the body, answer that the flower withers, but the seed remains.? Kahlil Gibran Maxine Richbourg of Charlotte passed away peacefully and surrounded by love on Sunday, June 19, 2011. She was born May 20, 1931 in Forest City, NC. She was the oldest child of eight born to George Glenn and Orilla Scruggs Wright. Maxine, a 1953 Nursing Graduate of Spartanburg General Hospital, spent her nursing career as a compassionate caregiver through work with Dr. Hector Henry, Wesley Nursing Center and others. She was passionate about her family and friends, gardening, books, England, Scotland and Ireland and her animals, Zoe, Clara and Mabel. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Walter Wilson Richbourg and daughter, Mary Anna Richbourg. Also, sisters Glenda White of Forest City and Phyllis Wright of Gainesville, FL along with many loved nieces, nephews and friends. The family thanks Dr. Jonathan Levine and all at Carolinas Cancer Care for their compassionate care and genuine concern for her health and well being. A Celebration of Life in her memory will be held Saturday, July 2, 2011 at 2pm in the Fellowship Hall at Dilworth United Methodist Church, 605 East Blvd. Charlotte, NC. A private burial service will be held in the Columbarium Garden at Dilworth prior to the Celebration of Life. The family suggests memorials be made to Friends of the NC Library for the Blind, 1841 Capital Blvd, Raleigh, NC 27635 or Dilworth Methodist Church, Columbarium Fund, 605 East Blvd. Charlotte, NC 28203.
