Obituary of Sarah Griffith

Sarah Sizemore Griffith Mrs. Griffith, 82, of Belmont, NC died Sunday, July 10, 2011, in the Robin Johnson Hospice House in Dallas, NC. Mrs. Griffith was born October 19, 1928 in Pickens County, SC daughter of the late William and Inez Lindsey Sizemore. She was a member of New Covenant United Methodist Church and was a devoted homemaker. She enjoyed cooking and sewing, but most of all she enjoyed caring for her family. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Griffith was preceded in death by her husband, Dean Griffith; son, William Griffith; brother, William Sizemore and sister, Polly Ann Garraux. Survivors include her daughter, Clara Newell; sister, Broadus Hopkins; granddaughters, Heather Bennett and Sarah Garrison; grandson, Matthew Garrison and three great-grandchildren. Also surviving is her special friend, Jerri Godfrey. Funeral service for Mrs. Griffith will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 13, 2011, in the Dilworth Chapel of Hankins & Whittington Funeral Service. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn West Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to Robin Johnson Hospice House, 5005 Shepherds Way, Dallas, NC 28034.
