Obituary of Mary Robinson

Mary Jane Doughty Robinson ?Jane? Mrs. Robinson, 85, of Charlotte, NC, died peacefully at CMC Mercy Hospital on Sunday July 17, 2011. A native of Norfolk, VA, Mrs. Robinson was born January 25, 1926, a daughter of the late Dorothy and Leslie Doughty. Jane retired after 20 years of employment with Robertson?s Optical Laboratories. In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Charles William ?Bill? Robinson. She is survived by her daughter, Cathy Robinson Sparks and her husband Dale, of Charlotte, NC; son, John Charles Robinson and Karen Turner, of Mooresville, NC; grandchildren, Christina Franklin and Casey Sparks; great-grandchild, Bryce Sparks; sister, Betty Nolin and husband Fred, of Virginia Beach, VA; four nieces and one nephew. A memorial service to celebrate Jane?s life will be held 2:00PM, Wednesday, July 20, 2011, in the chapel of Hankins and Whittington Funeral Service, with the Reverend Ray Rippy officiating.
