Obituary of Polly Gallant

Rusha Pauline Anderson Gallant ?Polly? Mrs. Gallant, 88, of Charlotte, NC died July 31, 2011 at Huntersville Oaks. She was born in Union County, NC on July 6, 1923, daughter of the late Baxter Anderson and Blanche Helms Anderson. Mrs. Gallant worked for Harris Hart as Credit Manager and also worked for 23 years for Mecklenburg County as Office Manager for the Building Standards Department. She was a member of Central Steele Creek Presbyterian Church, where she sang in the choir, was an active circle member, taught Sunday school and also served on the building committee. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gallant was preceded in death by her husband McDonald ?Mac? Gallant; her brother Baxter Anderson; and her sister, Katherine Anderson Pearson. She is survived by her nieces Katherine Foster and Karen Spillane; nephews, Brad Anderson and Doug Anderson; her sister-in-law Jane Anderson; and a number of great nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, on Monday, August 8, 2011 at Central Steele Creek Presbyterian Church, 9401 South Tryon St., Charlotte, NC 28273, with Reverend Luke H. Maybry, officiating. Inurnment will follow in Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 15000 York Rd. Charlotte, NC 28278. The family will receive friends at the church for one hour prior to the service.
