Obituary of Charles Foster

CHARLES ALBERT FOSTER JAMESTOWN- Charles Albert Foster, 83, passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2011 at the home of his daughter after receiving Hospice care. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 6, 2011, at St. Christopher?s Episcopal Church at 303 Eastchester Drive in High Point. Presiding over the service will be Reverend Kenneth Kroohs. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at St. Christopher?s on August 6, 2011. Born on February 10, 1928 in Union County, SC, Mr. Foster graduated from High Point Central High School and attended High Point College receiving his degree in business administration in 1951. He was the son of Manuel and Nina Foster. He was an electrical salesman during his working career and retired from Maddux Supply Company in Greensboro, NC. He was past exalted ruler of the Elks Lodge in High Point, NC. Upon retirement, he and his wife were the owners and operators of Mitchell?s Point Marina in Smith Mountain Lake, VA. He resided in Jamestown, NC until his death. Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Barbara Joan Foster of the home; his daughter, Dr. Susan N. Massengill; his son, Charles R. Foster, Attorney at Law, and his wife, Marlin Y. Foster. He had five grandchildren, Emily A. Foster, Philip L. Foster, James Foster Massengill, Danae Leigh Massengill and Charles Nicholas Foster. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, James Manuel Foster; and sister, Margie F. Oberlies. The measure of any man is how he is remembered by his family. ?Charlie? will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
