Obituary of Phyllis Carras

Phyllis Starnes Carras Mrs. Carras, 76, of Charlotte, NC died August 5, 2011 in Weddington, NC. Phyllis was born in Fort Mill, SC, March 13, 1935, a daughter of the late Luther and Annie Mae Starnes. She was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral and later St. Nektarios Greek Orthodox Church. She was also a member of the Young at Heart Senior Group and Starnes Triennial Association. Mrs. Carras is survived by two daughters, Helene Carras, stationed with the US Army in Afghanistan, and Adrian Carras of Weddington, NC; five grandchildren, Anna Kendrick, Robert and Nicholas Kluttz, and Alex and Olivia Lowery; two sisters, Janice Pettus and Susan Blackwelder, and two brothers, Stanley Starnes and Luther Starnes Jr. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Carras was preceded in death by her husband Nicholas Gus Carras; daughter, Troy Ann Carras Kluttz, and sister, Dallas Starnes Holler. Funeral service for Mrs. Carras will be at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, August 9, at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church with the Reverend Michael Varvarelis officiating. The interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The Trisagion will be 7:30 P.M. Monday at the cathedral. Pallbearers will be Robert Kluttz, Nicholas Kluttz, Alex Carras Lowery, Stanley Starnes, Luther Starnes, Marvin Blackwelder, and Jeffrey Horrell.
