Obituary of William Young

William Charles Young ?Bill? William Young, 41, loving father, husband, and son, passed away at CMC Pineville on August 25 2011 following a five year battle with kidney disease. He was born in Binghamton, New York, son of Lynne Bahntge Young of Rock Hill, SC and the late, Theodore Robert Young. A graduate of Fort Mill high school, one of his proudest moments was marching with the marching band and having a solo in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade. The other joy in his life was his two children and he had the privilege of staying home with them for the last couple of years. Prior to that, he was a manager for Dell, Inc. and Radio Shack. He was passionate about animals especially his "husk-a-dor", Buddy. In addition to his mother, Bill is survived by his wife, Kim Barnett Young, their children, Caitlin and Austin, a sister, Heather Brabham, and her husband, Mike of Rock Hill, SC, brother, Tim Young of Rock Hill, SC, two nieces and a nephew, Josh & Taylor Brabham and Sydney Young; and parents-in-law, Bob & Gena Barnett of Charlotte. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 30, 2011 in the Francis Chapel of Myers Park United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:30 until 8:00 at Hankins and Whittington Funeral Service, 1111 East Blvd, Charlotte. In lieu of flowers, a college scholarship fund has been created for the children.
