Obituary of Robert Massengill

ROBERT LEON MASSENGILL Robert L. Massengill, 55, passed away on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at his home. There will be a celebration of his life on Saturday, September, 3, 2011, at 11:00 AM at Christ Episcopal Church with the family receiving friends following the service. Robert was born November 9, 1955, in Fort Riley, Kansas to James and Hilda Massengill. He was a graduate of North Carolina State University. He proudly served four years as an officer in the US Army and retired from the Army Reserves with the rank of Major. He later graduated from Duke University with a Masters in Health Administration. He was employed by Carolinas Health Care System as assistant vice president of corporate medical records. He is survived by Susan F. Massengill, MD; son, James Foster Massengill; daughter, Danae Leigh Massengill; mother, Hilda Hill and husband, Charles Hill of Cary, NC; father, James Robert Massengill and wife, Barbara of Caballo, NM; brother, William B. Massengill and wife, Debbie, and their children, Anna and Steven of Lafayette, IN; uncle and aunt, David and Dannie Susan Daniels of Kinston, NC.
