Obituary of Joseph Sovacool

Joseph William Sovacool ?Joe? Mr. Sovacool, 53, of Charlotte died Thursday, September 15, 2011, at the Levine and Dickson Hospice House. Joe was born in Akron, OH, December 5, 1957, son of the late Thomas and Joan Miller Sovacool. After graduating from Central Piedmont Community College, Joe began his career with The Charlotte Observer. He worked his way up and was the leader of the CPR Team (Connecting the Paper with its Readers). Joe enjoyed a good beer, good Irish whiskey and a good Cuban cigar. He also enjoyed classical guitar, the symphony, camping and traveling. Survivors include his brother, Michael J. Sovacool of Charlotte, NC; sister, Susan S. Lukowski and husband, Edward of Lake Wylie, SC and nephews, David Lukowski of Charlotte, NC and John Lukowski of Irmo, SC. A gathering of friends will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 PM Thursday, September 22, 2011, at Hankins and Whittington Funeral Service. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Charlotte Symphony, 2 Wells Fargo Center, St. 1700, 301 S. Tryon St., Charlotte, NC 28282.
