Obituary of John Havelos

John T. Havelos Mr. Havelos, 83, of Charlotte died Friday, September 23, 2011 at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte, NC. John was born August 29, 1928 in Fayetteville, NC son of the late Thomas John and Katina Agnostethis Havelos. He graduated from NC State University with a degree in Architecture. Mr. Havelos was a US Army veteran of the Korean War. John retired from J.N. Pease and Associates and also did consulting for many years. John enjoyed landscaping and working in his yard. He also enjoyed working on his cars, but above all he loved his family. Mr. Havelos will be missed by his family and friends, may his memory be eternal. Survivors include his wife, Becky Havelos; daughter, Tina Dukes and husband, Brad all of Charlotte, NC; son, Tommy Havelos and wife, Kim; grandson, Xander Havelos all of Todd, NC; sisters, Era Stavropoulous and husband, Bill of Westchester, PA and Ellie Gile and husband, Charles of Dallas, TX and many nieces and nephews. Funeral service for Mr. Havelos will be held 11:30 AM Monday, September 26, 2011 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral with Father Michael Varvarelis and Father Philemon Patitsas officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The Trisagion will be Sunday evening September 25, 2011 at 7:00 PM at the cathedral.
