Obituary of Joyce Stokes

Joyce Stokes Mrs. Stokes, 78, of Charlotte, beloved mother, grandmother and sister went to heaven on September 28, 2011. She is survived by her sister, Shirley Thompson; sons, Perry Stokes (Sarah), Gary Stokes (Deborah), Byron Stokes (Susan); daughter, Karen Stokes-Brown (Richard); eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Mrs. Stokes was preceded in death by her husband Perry Stokes, Sr.; a son Tim Stokes; and her mother Pauline Nelson. Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 1, 2011 in the chapel of Hankins & Whittington Funeral Service, 1111 East Blvd. Charlotte, NC 28203 with Reverend Ron Hanna officiating. Interment will follow in Sharon Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Saturday at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service.
