Obituary of Bobby Brown

Bobby Lewis Brown Mr. Brown, 84, of Charlotte, NC passed away on October 13, 2011 at Presbyterian Hospital. He was born in Charlotte, NC on December 27, 1926 son of the late Fred W. and Bessie Hyman Brown. He graduated from Tech High School in Charlotte in 1946. He worked for A & P Tea Company, where he retired after 29 years. After retirement he worked for Chic Hosiery Company here in Charlotte for 5 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Steven Lewis Brown of Charlotte and his brother, Jerry W. Brown of Richmond, VA. Mr. Brown is survived by his wife of over 61 years, Gloria Faulkner Brown of the home; daughter, Sandy Brown Griffin of Oakboro, NC; grandchildren, Jessica Crawley and her husband, Matt of Charlotte, NC and Jeremy Griffin and his wife, Shane of Locust, NC; great-grandchildren, Emma Crawley, Erin Crawley and Austin Griffin. Graveside funeral service will at Elmwood City Cemetery on Monday, October 17, 2011at 1:00 PM. The family will receive friends on Sunday October 16, 2011 from 2:00 until 4:00 PM at Hankins & Whittington Funeral Service, 1111 East Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28203.
