Obituary of John Sullivan

John Nelson Sullivan Mr. Sullivan, 81, a native Charlottean, died Sunday, October 16, 2011 at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte, NC. John was born November 9, 1929, son of the late Otho and Ophelia Dixon Sullivan. He was a US Army veteran and retired from Johnson Motor Lines with thirty years of service. Mr. Sullivan was a life long member of Sharon Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, camping and especially spending time with his children and grandchildren. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Wincy C. Sullivan; son, Jody Sullivan; daughter, Buffy Layne and husband, Jeff and their children, Hunter, Cooper, Jessie and Heidi; brother, Frank Sullivan; sister, Margaret Stanford and husband, Joe and many nieces and nephews. Funeral service for Mr. Sullivan will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at Sharon Presbyterian Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Hankins & Whittington Tuesday evening October 18, 2011 from 7:00 to 8:30 PM.
