Obituary of Leland Jones

Leland Box Jones Mr. Jones, 70, of Charlotte died Friday, November 11, 2011, at his residence. Lee was born February 21, 1941, in Vernon, AL son of the late Oscar and Hattie Johnson Jones. Mr. Jones was a CPA in manufacturing until he retired in 2008. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War and received the bronze star. Mr. Jones loved University of Alabama football and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. In addition to his parents Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his brothers, Brooks, Ed, Max and Bill Jones. Survivors include his wife, Glenda Hollingsworth Jones; daughters, Lisa LeAnn Jones and Alanna Jones Worrell and her husband, Richard all of Charlotte, NC; sister Helen Grace Jolly of Montgomery, AL and grandsons, Rich and Harris Worrell. A service to celebrate his life will be held 2:00 PM Monday, November 14, 2011, in the Hankins & Whittington Chapel. Interment with military honors will follow in Sharon Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Hankins & Whittington Sunday afternoon November 13, 2011 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM.
