Obituary of Margaret Brown

Margaret W. Brown Margaret, 52, of Charlotte, NC passed away on January 11, 2012 at her residence. She was born on April 4, 1958, daughter of Thomas and Mildred Wilkes of Charlotte, N.C. Margaret attended Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools and is a 1980 graduate of Johnson C. Smith University majoring in Physical Education. Margaret and Eddie Brown were joined in Holy Matrimony on May 25th 1980 and later had two children, Matasha and Edward. Margaret has worked as an educator for 20 years, having spent the last 10 years working for Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools as a Pre-K teacher which she enjoyed with a passion. Margaret and Eddie are also long time members of Central Church of God in Charlotte. Margaret is survived by her parents, Thomas and Mildred; her husband, Eddie; her children, Matasha and Edward; grandmother, Mattie Jamison; her brother, Kenneth Wilkes; and a host of loving aunts, uncles and cousins. Margaret was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Wilkes III. The Family would like to thank the Blumental Cancer Center and Hospice and Palliative Care Charlotte Region for all the love, kindness and caring during this challenging period. We would also like to extend a heartfelt thanks to all our friends and family members. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, January 16, 2012 in the chapel of Hankins & Whittington Funeral Service, 1111 east Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28203. The family will receive friends Monday at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service.
