Obituary of Evelyn Wilson

Evelyn Louise Richmond Wilson Mrs. Wilson, 82, passed away February 16, 2012 at Presbyterian Hospital. She was joyfully reunited with her beloved husband of 63 years, Jerry Wilson, who preceded her in death February 1, 2012. She was born February 13, 1930 in Bristol, VA to the late John Douglas Richmond, Sr. and Juanita Dolly Jane Lowe Richmond. Evelyn retired from Charles T Main, Engineering and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was a woman full of love and gave so freely and openly to her family and friends. When you walked in to her home you were received with open arms with a hug and a kiss. You were unable to leave her home until you were filled with food and another hug and kiss. She loved watching her doves feed on their feeder. Also, she loved flowers. For the past 16 years due to health reasons, she was unable to have flowers in her home. Now she is able to be surrounded by a multitude of colorful flowers. In addition to her husband and parents, Evelyn was also preceded in death by her four brothers. She is survived by her son and his wife, three daughters and their husbands, four grandchildren, one great grandchild, adopted family, sister and her husband, and brother and his wife. Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, February 20, 2012, in the chapel of Hankins and Whittington with Reverend Jim Owens whom mother loved dearly officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in Forest Lawn West Cemetery on Freedom Dr, Charlotte, NC.
