Obituary of Carolyn Massad

Carolyn Lee Massad Ms. Massad, 75, of Charlotte passed away February 18, 2012, surrounded by her family. She was born June 27, 1936 in Granville, County, North Carolina a daughter of the late William Lee and Clyde Hockaday Jenkins. Carolyn was valedictorian of her graduating class at Creedmoor High School. She was employed as an administrative assistant with the Parks and Recreation Department for the City of Charlotte until she retired. Ms. Massad was a professional metaphysician that provided spiritual guidance and healing to many. Carolyn also did volunteer work for St. John Neumann. In addition to Her parents Carolyn was preceded in death by her brother, William and sisters, Ann and Nancy. She loved her family and friends and will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include her daughter, Lola Massad; son, George Massad and his partner, David Craig; daughter, Jenny Massad and her husband, Ron Horne; sister, Regina Newton; brother, Kenneth Jenkins; grandsons, Bryant and Jackson and many nieces and nephews. Also surviving is her former husband, Emil Massad. A service to celebrate her life will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 22, 2012, in the chapel of Hankins & Whittington. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening February 21, 2012, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
