Obituary of William Francis

William Jack Francis, Sr. ?Jack? Mr. Francis, 88, of Charlotte, NC died on February 26, 2012 at Iredell Memorial Hospital in Statesville, NC. He was born in Greenville, SC, son of the late Marvin and Clarcy Francis. Mr. Francis served in the United States Army during World War II in the European Theater under General George Patton. He received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star and was nominated for a Silver Star. After his service in the army, Mr. Francis was a manufacturer?s representative in the packaging industry and also owner of Packaging Consultants, Inc. He was an Elder at Sharon Presbyterian Church, where he was a member since 1945. Mr. Francis is survived by his daughter, Nancy F. Oliver and her husband, Larry of Charlotte; son William J. Francis, Jr. and his wife, Susan of Statesville; and grandchildren, Maxx and Nikki Oliver of Charlotte, . A memorial service will be at 2:00 PM, Thursday, March 1, 2012 in the chapel of Sharon Presbyterian Church, 5201 Sharon Rd. Charlotte, NC 28210. Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery.
