Obituary of Mae Moore

Mae Newsom Moore Mrs. Moore, 100, died Friday, March 23, 2012 at Lake Park Nursing Home. Mae was born September 25, 1911, in Union County, NC a daughter of the late Richard and Julia Ross Newsom. She grew up in Marshville, NC and was the valedictorian of Marshville High School class of 1927. After graduation the family moved to Charlotte, NC. Mae was a member of Pritchard Memorial Baptist Church and the Dorcas Sunday school class. Mrs. Moore retired from A & P Grocery Stores after sixteen years. She enjoyed gardening, yard work and cooking. Mrs. Moore was famous for her homemade yeast rolls. Mae loved cats and especially her cat named Fluff. In addition to her parents Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by nine siblings. Survivors include daughter, Julia Eudy and husband, Ken; grandson, Kenny Eudy and wife, Carol; granddaughter, Kathy Eudy and great-grandchildren Kyle, Colby and Krissy. Also surviving are her best friends, Mary Southall and Mitzi Roper. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Lake Park Nursing Home and especially, Sara. A service to celebrate her life will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, April 14, 2012 in the Chapel of Hankins & Whittington. The family will receive friends following the service.
