Obituary of Evelyn Kollender

Evelyn Goolsby Butler Kollender Mrs. Kollender, 97, of Charlotte died Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at Carrington Place in Matthews, NC. Evelyn was born December 8, 1914, in Griffin, GA daughter of the late James and Florence Mote Goolsby. Mrs. Kollender was a devoted homemaker and enjoyed playing Bridge. She was a member of the Baptist faith and will be missed by all who knew and loved her. In addition to parents Mrs. Kollender was preceded in death by her husband, Earl: daughter, Louise Jordan and son-in-law, Bill Fletcher and great-grandson, Phillip Proctor. Survivors include her daughter, Jimmy Nell Fletcher; grandchildren, Tom Fletcher and wife, Holly, Patti Fletcher, Tracy Chambers and husband, Greg, Julie Kiser and husband, Charles, Terri Agold and husband, Jim, Jamie Aiello and husband, Paul, Jeanne Johnson and Richard Wagner and nine great grandchildren. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Carrington Place in Matthews. The family will receive friends at Hankins & Whittington from 11:00 AM to Noon. A graveside service will be held 12:30 PM Friday, March 30, 2012, in Forest Lawn West Cemetery.
