I was saddened to read of Mr. Prather's passing. I did not work directly with him in the "Big House" at 2901, but had numerous occasions to interact with him. Each time was memorable and always, somehow, I felt I was a little wiser for it. Though his office was in the "Tower", he was one of us, a Craft employee. He would become piqued around Festival in the Park time, not wishing Sterling Road to become a parking lot. I could always understand that. Until I read of his life, I did not realize just how much Mr. Hugh gave to the world and all who met him. Thank you for letting me do so.

Dear Hugh,I was so sorry to read about your father's death. My mother's obiturary was right beside his in the Saturday paper, Margaret Solomon. We now share more than our time working together at Flying Tigers.I know yours and your family's grief is deep. However, you and I must remember how much our parents loved us and how much we loved them. As I lay my mother to rest today, I will be thinking of you and your family and hoping for happier days. Sincerely, Linda Solomon Lowrance Lidington

P.S. Moreover, the two Prather brothers (Uncle Hugh and Uncle Vernon) who served in WWII are exchanging salutes as they join the other family members

My dear Uncle Hugh is now with his two sisters and his mother and father. Knowing the family dynamics as I do, I'm sure he and Granddaddy are both shedding happy tears while Mamagranny, my mom (Virginia), and Aunt Julia are smiling and hugging him while beaming with love. You were always a WWII hero to all in the extended Prather family. We will miss you.
