Obituary of Lucille Norris

Lucille Prevatte Norris Mrs. Norris, 85, of Charlotte, NC died on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at her residence. She was born in Lumberton, NC on October 19, 1926, daughter of the late Luther H. Prevatte and Lula Mae Prevatte. Mrs. Norris was the head bookkeeper for Harris-Teeter at Park Rd. / Sharon Rd. for over 30 years and she was a faithful member of Pritchard Memorial Baptist Church in Charlotte for over 60 years. The above are some of the facts of ?Mimi?s? life but the true essence of her life was her love for God and her family. Everything she did was devoted to helping her family. Known for her care and compassion in helping others, Mimi had a dry wit that would cut to the heart of the matter. Although she will be missed tremendously, her entire family knows she is in heaven helping others as she did here. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edmond L. Norris; grandson, Michael Reynolds; brothers, William Prevatte, Leo Prevatte, and Ernest Prevatte; and her sister, Vera Cormack. Mrs. Norris is survived by her children, Wayne Norris and his wife, Susan, Sindi Reynolds and her husband, Ed, Terry Pope and her husband, Tom and Abbey Norris; grandchildren, Kym, Haley, Tommy, Babette, Lori, Crystal, Thomas, Jr., Brigitte and Carter Wayne; and 15 great-grandchildren. A service celebrating her life will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, April 23, 2012 in the sanctuary of Pritchard Memorial Baptist Church, 1117 South Blvd. Charlotte, NC 28203. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon from 3:00 until 5:00 PM at Hankins & Whittington Funeral Service, 1111 East Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28203. Memorials may be made to Pritchard Memorial Baptist Church.
