Obituary of John Mageras

John Evangelos Mageras John Mageras, 54, of Belmont, NC, formerly of Charlotte, NC, died June 13, 2012 surrounded by his family at his home. At the age of fifteen John moved to Winchester, VA where he attended high school. For the last 18 years, he has been a managing partner of the Captain?s Cap Restaurant in Belmont. John was the quintessential host and took great pride in serving his customers. While he truly appreciated his US citizenship, he cherished his trips to Greece and kept his Greek heritage close to his heart. In addition to his mother, John will be truly missed by his wife, Lauri Mandaro Mageras; his three children that he was so proud of, Evangelos (Vageli), Rena and Maria; and two sisters, Chrysanthi (George) Mageras and Eleni (Kostas) Vlahos, both of Greece; mother-in-law, Mary Mandaro, of Williamsburg, VA and numerous family members.
