Obituary of Carol Andrus

Ms. Andrus, 61, of Charlotte, NC, went to be with the Lord June 21, 2012. She was born in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada on April 11, 1951. Twenty minutes later, her twin brother Clare arrived, much to the surprise and delight of her parents. Carol achieved her dream to be a nurse and had a 40 year career working in many areas of the health profession. She always took a personal interest in each patient and tried to be an ?angel of healing.? She found the greatest satisfaction in life being a mother to Matthew and Catherine. For her, family was most important, and she believed that being a mother and grandmother was her highest calling. She emulated her own Mother, whom she loved and admired. Carol will be remembered as loving, compassionate, and selfless. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Matthew Payne and wife, Margot; daughter, Catherine Payne; former husband Paul Payne, Jr; three grandchildren, Ethan, Logan and Anneliese; sister, Marie Bowman; brothers, Ralph, Keith and Clare Andrus. Carol was proud of her grandchildren?s scouting achievements that often reminded her of her Canadian childhood experiences in the great outdoors.
