Obituary of Nina Hodges

Nina Beamon Hodges Nina Beamon Hodges, of Charlotte, passed away on Friday, July 6, 2012 at Carrington Place. Nina was born in Barbour County, Alabama on July 27, 1916 to Thomas Filmore and Clara Hawkins Wilson Beamon. Nina graduated from Central High School in Charlotte and worked many years in Vital Statistics for Mecklenburg County Health Department and the Inspection Dept. of the City of Charlotte. She was a member of Hawthorne Lane United Methodist for over 60 years, a devoted member of the Joy Outlook Sunday School Class and the United Methodist Women. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Joseph Howard Hodges [2001] and her son, Terry Alan Hodges [1968]. She is survived by her only daughter, Claire Hodges Erb and husband, Ed; grandson Terry Edward Erb and wife, Wini; great-grandchildren, Haven, Lauren, Camden and Ashton; and grandson, Robert Joseph Erb. Also surviving is her niece; Ann Beamon Murphy and husband, Jack, of Newville, Alabama; and many other loving nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the Caregivers at Carrington Place for the love and care given to Nina during her residency there. A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, July 9, 2012 at Hawthorne Lane United Methodist Church. Receiving and reception will follow in Evans Hall. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hawthorne Lane United Methodist Church.
