Obituary of Virgil Liner

Virgil Cline Liner Virgil Liner, 67, formerly of Charlotte, NC went home to be with Jesus at Lower Cape Fear Hospice in Wilmington, NC. He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Padgett-Liner; son, Stephen Liner; daughter, Janine Dennis; brother, Alfred L. Liner and wife, Sylvia; sister, Linda Meador and husband, Ron; niece, Lisa Wilson and husband, Greg; nephew, Matthew C. Liner; grandchildren, Tessa Liner, Ashley Ringwig, Marshall Watson, Elizabeth Dennis, Hannah Marshall, Harris Hord, Jon Padgett, and Chris Padgett; step-children, Robin Marshall and husband, Richard, Kim Hord and husband, Allen and Randy Padgett and wife, Kim; great grandchildren, Sarah Watson, Jason Gabriel, and Adora Ringwig. Virgil served in the Navy for six years beginning August 21, 1963. He was an active life member of the Vietnam Veterans of America, American Legion, Elks Lodge, Moose Lodge and a 32 degree Scottish Rite Mason and Shrine. He was a life member of the Loch Norman Highland Games Society in Charlotte, NC; founding member of the Catawba Valley Scottish Society, retired NC State Commissioner of Clan Campbell Society, and a Life Member of the OL049 Scottish American Military Society. The family will receive friends Monday evening, August 20, 2012, from 7:00 to 9:00pm at Hankins and Whittington Funeral Service. Funeral service for Mr. Liner will be held Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at Twelve o?clock noon in the chapel of Hankins and Whittington. Interment will follow the service in Evergreen Cemetery.
