Obituary of Margaret Riley Hunter

Margaret Ann Riley Hunter Margaret Ann Riley Hunter of Charlotte, NC departed this world to be with the Lord on August 21, 2012 after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer?s. Margaret was born August 27, 1919 in Montreal, Canada to the late James Riley and Bridget Maloney Riley. Mrs. Hunter was a riveter?s helper during WWII and became a war bride, marrying Jack Hunter, the love of her life in November 1943. She was a devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed gardening, and spending time with her family and loved all things Canadian. Mrs. Hunter was a devout Catholic her entire life and a member of St Ann?s Catholic Church since 1963. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; son, Gary; three sisters, Elsie, Kathleen, and Mary; and three brothers, Tommy, Dickie and Jimmie. Mrs. Hunter is survived by her three daughters, Maureen Hunter, Patricia Hunter, and Karen Hunter Ponischil and her husband, Mark; two granddaughters Megan Hunter and Elizabeth Brown and her husband, Jim; and two great-grandchildren, Riley & Jack Brown. The family of Mrs. Hunter would like to thank Emeritus SouthPark and Hospice and Palliative Care Charlotte Region for their care, love and support during her battle with Alzheimer?s. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 25th, 2012 at St. Ann Catholic Church, 3635 Park Rd., Charlotte, NC 28209 with Monsignor John McSweeney, Celebrant. Interment is private. The family will receive friends on Friday evening, August 24, 2012 from 6:00 until 7:30 at Hankins & Whittington Funeral Service, 1111 East Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28203. There will be a Rosary service at 7:30 PM in the funeral home chapel. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to St Jude?s Children?s Research Hospital, P.O.
