Obituary of Roy Frith

Mr. Frith, 85, of Charlotte, NC died August 24, 2012 at Huntersville Oaks Nursing Home. He was born on September 29, 1926 in Everette, WA, son of the late Steven R. Frith and Edith Funke Frith. Mr. Frith grew up in a military family and was living in Pearl Harbor, HI when it was bombed. He witnessed up close the horrifying attacks. He then went on to serve our country in the United States Navy. After his service in the Navy, Mr. Frith went on to a career as a Supervisor with Eastern Airlines where he retired after 27 years of service. He was active in the community as a member of the Steele Creek Masonic Lodge and also active in his church, Moores Chapel United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Diane Edwards. Mr. Frith is survived by his wife of 51 ½ years Mary Hart Frith; daughters, Kim Troutman and Karen Frith; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, August 27, 2012 at Moores Chapel United Methodist Church, 10601 Moores Chapel Rd., Charlotte, NC 28214. Interment will be private in Ayden, NC. The family will receive friends at the church Monday for one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Moores Chapel United Methodist Church.
