Obituary of Edythe Pallin

Edythe Goldstein Pallin, age 95, of Charlotte , NC died peacefully on October 26, 2012 at Carolinas Medical Center - Pineville Division. She was the beloved daughter of David Goldstein and Lena Foodem Goldstein. Edythe was predeceased by her husband Ralph Parker Pallin and her brother Edward Goldstein. Edythe was born in Brooklyn, New York, and lived there until she nearly graduated high school. She then moved with her family to Los Angeles where she graduated high school and then went on to attend UCLA. She received a Bachelor of Science degree there. Edythe attended The Jewish Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania which is now known as Albert Einstein Medical Center. She received her nursing degree and went on to become a Nurse Practitioner. Mrs. Pallin served her country during World War II as an Army Nurse serving with the 156th Evacuation Hospital. She served on IeShima Island in Okinawa beginning in 1943 and was honorable discharged in 1945. After her service with the Army she married Ralph Parker Pallin. Edythe and her grandchildren are members of Temple Beth El. Mrs. Pallin is survived by three children; daughters Linda Rome of Texas and Francie S. Bernier of Leesburg, Virginia and son Jeffrey J. Pallin of California. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
