Obituary of Katherine Callahan

Katherine Sitton Callahan Kathy Callahan, 61, of Waxhaw, NC, passed away on December 1, 2012 at the Harris Hospice Unit of Presbyterian Hospital as a result of injuries sustained from a fall at the home. She was born on December 3, 1950 in Charlotte, NC daughter of the late, William H. and Grace P. Sitton. Kathy attended Charlotte schools graduating from South Mecklenburg High School, and spent most of her adult life working in the banking industry. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother William H. Sitton, Jr. Kathy is survived by her husband of 40 years, George B. Callahan; daughters, Denise Merritt and her husband, Jason, and Sarah Mullis and her husband, Jared; grandchildren, Meagan Merritt and Noah Merritt; her sister, Dollie Sitton; and nieces and nephews. The memorial service will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 7, 2012 at Avondale Presbyterian Church, 2821 Park Rd., Charlotte, NC 28203 with Dr. John Earl, Pastor, officiating.
