Obituary of Annie Darwin

Mrs. Darwin, 89, of Charlotte died Friday, December 21, 2012, at her residence. Mrs. Darwin was born in Lakeland, FL July 14, 1923. She was a former member of Hillside Baptist Church where she was very active serving as a Sunday school teacher and later transferred her membership to Southside Baptist Church. Annie was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening in her early years. She was also an animal lover especially her two dogs that were her constant companions. Mrs. Darwin was preceded in death by her husband, John Edward Darwin, Sr.; sons, John Edward Darwin, Jr. and Charles Edward Darwin and daughter, Barbara Shepard. Survivors include her daughters, Margaret Black of Savannah, GA and Norma ?Elaine? Darwin Lane of Charlotte, NC; grandsons, Michael Adams, Alan Harmon, Christopher Lane, Mark Lane and Kane Darwin; granddaughters, Dawn Scott, Julie Darwin and Tiffany Darwin and Seven great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, December 24, 2012 in Forest Lawn West Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon December 23, 2012 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at Hankins & Whittington.
