Obituary of Joyce S. Sipes

Joyce S. "Monie" Sipes, age 92, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 24, 2018. Joyce will always be remembered as a caring person and she had a smile that will never be forgotten by anyone she met. She loved children and spent much of her life caring for them. She was the proprietor of her own childcare facility in Charlotte, North Carolina; the Hickory Grove Child Development Center. She was a member of both Midwood Baptist and Hickory Grove Baptist Church where she worked with the youth. She is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, James "Jim" Sipes. Survivors include her daughter, Lynda (Wade) Hampton of Hickory, NC; son, Reggie (Kim) Sipes of Shelby, NC; grandchildren, Dink (Fran Wilbourn) Nolen, Wes (Noelle) Nolen, and Rene (Tom) Huntsinger; great-grandchildren, Kelsey, Molly, Robin, Hope, Hannah, Oscar, Cesar, Maggie, and Max; and one great-great grandson, Gabe.
