Obituary of Glynn Swindell

Glynn Freeman-Swindell Mrs. Freeman-Swindell , 85, of Matthews, NC, passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at Hospice House of Union County. She was born May 29, 1927 in Franklin County, NC, daughter of the late John and Luttie Young. Mrs. Swindell retired from A&P Tea Company in Charlotte, NC. After her retirement she became a private nanny to many families in the charlotte area. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Swindell is preceded in death by her husband, Willie H. Freeman; son, James E. Freeman; daughter, Virginia F. Freeman; and a great-grandson, Austin J. Freeman. Mrs. Swindell is survived by her son Mike Freeman and his wife, Lela of Clayton NC; grandchildren, Tonda Wilsman and her husband, Bill of Matthews, NC, Shelley Miller and her husband, Marvin of Catawba, NC, and James Freeman Jr. and his wife, Karen of Van Wyck, SC, Michelle Capps and her husband, Lawrence of Wendell, NC, Keith Medlin and his wife, Michelle of Clayton, NC, and John Medlin and his wife, Kelly of Graham, NC; 11 great- grandchildren, Tyler & Trent Wilsman, Paige & Kayla Miller, Jason & Brooklyn Freeman, Lexi & Whitley Capps, Ashley, Aaron & Shelby Medlin; and sisters, Faye Wright and her husband, Tom and Mildred Darcourt. The family would like to thank Kelly and Dirk Baker for their love and support of Mrs. Swindell, and the staff at Hospice of Union County McWhorter House for their excellent care of Mrs. Swindell and her family. The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM, Monday, January 28, 2013 at Pritchard Memorial Baptist Church, 1117 South Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28203. Interment will follow in Sharon Memorial Park.
