Obituary of Irma Gransee

Irma Rhodes Gransee Mrs. Gransee, 94, of Charlotte, NC died at Presbyterian Hospital on Thursday, January 31, 2013. She was born January 3, 1919, in Claxton, GA a daughter of the late John and Julia Heape Waters. Irma was retired from the Mecklenburg County Health Department and was a member of First Baptist Church. In addition to her parents Mrs. Gransee was preceded in death by her first husband, Jamie ?Jim? Rhodes and her second husband, Vern Gransee and her daughter, Jamie L. Rhodes Cox. Survivors include her son, David Rhodes and wife, Rosie; grandchildren, J. Elizabeth Utz and husband, Michael, Derek Rhodes, Jennifer Rhodes, Hala Sanderson and her husband, Richard; great grandchildren, Dylan Jacobs, Haley Williams, Bryson Williams, James Williams, Emili Sanderson, and Johnathan Utz and many nieces and nephews. A service to celebrate her life will be held 11:00AM Friday, February 8, 2013, in the chapel of Hankins & Whittington Funeral Service. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Sharon Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to First Baptist Church, 301 S. Davidson St. Charlotte, NC 28202.
