Obituary of Margaret Lineberger Rogers

Margaret Emma Lineberger Rogers Mrs. Rogers, 102, journeyed from this world into heaven on Friday, February 1, 2013, at her home. Born in Lincoln County, NC, January 4, 1911, daughter of the late Luther and Georgia Lineberger, Margaret spent most of her childhood and adult life in Charlotte, NC. Her greatest joys were her faith, family, friends and her lifelong involvement in her church. She was a long time member of the United Methodist Church, where she served as an adult Sunday school teacher and touched many lives. In addition to her parents Mrs. Rogers was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; sisters, Mary White and husband, Jim and Virginia Rogers and husband, Hurley; brother, Alex Lineberger and wife, Emma. Survivors include her son Vernon Rogers and wife, Sheila; daughter, Georgia Nixon; grandchildren Michael Nixon and Amy Pacitto; great grandchildren Kaitlyn Pacitto, Logan and Becca Nixon and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The family would like to thank all her loving, caring, supportive relatives and friends. Special thanks to Dr. Cappleman, Dr. Akers, the eye glass ladies, Dr. Niedan, Dr. Sunar, Dr. Hinkle, their assistants and the wonderful team from Gaston Hospice. They provided such amazing comfort and care during her final days. We are also grateful to her caregiver Brenda, for all the love and attention given over the last few years in her role as ?Mama Sitter.? God bless all of you. A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 6, 2013, in the Chapel of Hankins & Whittington Funeral Service. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be private.
