Obituary of Josephine Thompson

Josephine Terry Thompson Mrs. Thompson, 102, of Charlotte, NC died on February 4, 2013 at Asbury Care Center. She was born on March 31, 1910 in Alamance County, daughter of the late Harvey and Flora B. Terry. Mrs. Thompson was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all. She was a very peaceful woman who loved plants, flowers and working in her yard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Thompson; and eight brothers and sisters. Mrs. Thompson is survived by her daughter, Frances Ann Thompson; son Robert Thompson and his wife, Terry; grandchildren, Lisa Jenkins and her husband, John and Jeff Thompson and his wife, Amy. The family would like to give special thanks to all of the caregivers who have helped throughout the years, especially Sabina Adjei and Rebecca Wright. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, February 8, 2013 in the chapel of Hankins & Whittington Funeral Service, 1111 East Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28203. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 205 Regency Park Dr., Suite 102, Charlotte, NC 28217.
