Obituary of Barbara Bowersox

Mrs. Bowersox, 82, of Charlotte, passed away Thursday, February 28, 2013, at Asbury Care Center. She was born October 31, 1930 to the late Wilbur and Hazel Stewart Brown. Barbara loved artwork, skiing and entertaining. She moved from Virginia to Colorado Springs and enjoyed the animals near the canyon where she and her husband, Ralph, lived. Most of all, Barbara loved her family and friends. Her humor will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew her. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Col. Ralph Bowersox; daughter, Janet Dickerson Richard; grandchildren, Samuel Denson Adsit IV, Christy (Ricardo) Howard and William Dickerson Wooley; great-grandson, Bryce Howard; step-daughter, Janis Ann Bowersox and her two children, Matthew Thomas Reindel and Rebecca Jayne Reindel; step-daughter, Jayne Elizabeth Bowersox; step-son, David Ralph Bowersox and his wife, Sara Daniels Bowersox, and their children, Margaret Louise and Charles Baker Bowersox. In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her son, James Douglas Dickerson. A service to celebrate Barbara's life will be held 11:00 AM on Monday, March 4, 2013 at Aldersgate, 3800 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, NC 28215. Burial will be held in Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia, at a later date. Memorials may be directed to Alzheimer's Association, www.alz.org.
