I will miss my dear friend, who had huge impact on me and countless others with his spirit of love and friendship. He cared so deeply about his friends and could be counted on to be there whenever he was needed. Joyce, I am so sorry for your loss. I will always remember calling and often getting the voice message which included the name of your cats, and enjoyed hearing that. When I first meet George, I thought he was a member of the mob just by the way he appeared, but when he spoke, along with his demeanor, he was the epitome of a Gentle Giant. Whenever I would call him for advice, or just to talk about life in general, he would always tell me to "hang in there" and if I was having a bad day, I could just start over right then and there. These were great words of wisdom for me and helped me to feel better. George was both a mentor and a friend me and hundreds of others. We lost a great one!

George and I were very good friends for many years, I got to know him as I delivered mail to he and his mother's home on Habersham Dr. We shared a lot of good times together, and he did love golf as we played many a round together. Later, after he and Joyce married they would visit me and my family on Christmas Eve, these were always pleasant times. He was truly a great friend, we will miss him.

As a very close neighbor to George and Joyce I have many wonderful memories of him. He was a loving husband to Joyce and warm and funny man to his friends. I am proud to say that I am one of his friends. Short to Shipp!
