Obituary of Tommy Joseph Vasquez

Tommy Joseph Vasquez, 76, of Charlotte, passed away on Tuesday March 12, 2024 after a brief illness. Born February 15, 1948 in Vallejo, California, he was the son of the late Fern Ruth Phelps and Philip Jaime Vasquez.

 

In addition to his parents, Tommy was preceded in death by his sister Suzy Proffitt and brothers Paul and Jim.

 

Tommy is survived by his loving wife, Joanna; his children, Tommy (Brook), Philip (Angie), Aaron (Allison) and Jay; his sister Linda Rice and special friend Janice. He has six grandchildren (Nathan, Madilyn, Ruby, Owen, Bryson and Parker), as well as many more loving family and friends.

 

Tommy proudly served his country with the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was an avid fan of college softball and the San Francisco 49ers. He was a member of Mountain Island church of Christ.

 

The family will receive friends from 11:30 to 12:00 on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Mountain Island church of Christ, 4205 Mt Holly-Huntersville Rd, Charlotte, NC 28216, with a celebration of life to follow.
