Obituary of William Carson Parlier

William "Bill" Carson Parlier, age 101, of Charlotte, North Carolina passed away on Thursday, January 25th, 2024. He was born on April 13th, 1922 in Winston-Salem to the late Calvin Carson Parlier and Annie Winkler Parlier. In addition to his parents, Bill was predeceased by his beloved wife of 66 years, Nancy Carter Parlier, and his only brother, Harry Parlier.

Bill's family moved to the Elizabeth section of Charlotte in 1928 and became members of Hawthorne Lane Methodist Church. In 1934, they moved to the Dilworth area and later became members of Dilworth United Methodist Church.

Bill was a graduate of Central High School and an Army veteran of World War II, serving in England, France, and Germany, from 1943 to 1946. Upon his return from service, he was employed by his father in the food distributing business as a salesman for ten years. Bill retired from the US Postal Service after thirty years.
He became a member of the Masonic fraternity in 1955. He was past master and past secretary of Temple Lodge #676, a Scottish rite Mason, honorary member of Walden's Lodge #274 in Greenville, SC and Oasis Shrine member.

Bill loved outside activities, especially gardening, boating, swimming, tennis, baseball, football, and golf. He enjoyed time spent with old and new friends at Tyvola Senior Center for several years.

Bill is survived by his loving children; Robert Parlier (Sandra) of Matthews, Harry Parlier (Tina) of Union, SC, William "Bill" Parlier (Theresa) of Fort Myers, FL, & Debra Hill (Doug) of Sunset Beach; five granddaughters, Elizabeth Elhassani, Jenny Parlier, Janice Fiola, Sarah Hill, & Missy Trent; four grandsons, Will Parlier, Addison Hill, Jeff Parlier, & Sean Parlier; several great grandchildren; sister in law, Martha Kirby; and many numerous nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Kay Parlier.

A memorial service honoring Bill's life will be held at Dilworth United Methodist Church at 3 PM on Saturday, February 3rd, 2024. After the service will be an inurnment in the columbarium of Dilworth United Methodist Church, followed by a reception in the Fellowship Hall.
