Obituary of Eleanore Ann Taddie

Mrs. Eleanore Taddie, aged 96, of Wingate, North Carolina passed away Tuesday, January 16th, 2024 peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 15th, 1927, in Cleveland, Ohio. She was the daughter of the late John F. Presby, Sr. And Catherine Rydel Presby.  

Mrs. Taddie was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, a member of the Third Order of St. Francis and an Associate of the Sisters of Mercy Association, Belmont, North Carolina. Eleanore was a volunteer at Parma Hospital in Ohio and a volunteer at Presbyterian Hospital in Matthews, North Carolina. Eleanore held various offices in the Ladies Guild at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Parma, Ohio. Eleanore was also a member of the Ladies Guild at Our Lady of the Assumption Church. Eleanore was also a member of the Little Flower Assisted Living Singing Group. A graduate of Dyke & Spencerine Business College, in Cleveland, Ohio, Eleanore worked as a secretary for a patent attorney for 8 years before taking on the full-time role of homemaker. 

Eleanore was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, & and great-grandmother who took great joy in her family. She was well known for her excellence in cooking, knitting, sewing, and love for her flower garden. She made sure that the Taddie home was always a joyful gathering place for family and friends. Eleanore will be greatly missed by her family and many friends who knew and loved her genuine heart. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Joseph F. Taddie, loving daughters; Diane Lee Taddie and Leann Marie (Taddie) Cangelosi, and her brother, John F. Presby, Jr. 

She is survived by her son, Robert J. Taddie and his wife, Denise; her daughter Linda A. Turner and her husband, John; her son-in-law, John Cangelosi; her grandchildren, Christopher M. Taddie, Nichole (Cangelosi) Hess and her husband Drew, Ashley (Cangelosi) Percent and her husband David, and Cassandra Cangelosi; and her great-grandchildren, Blakely Anderson, Devyn Taddie, and Vivian Percent. 

A visitation followed by a Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 A. M. with Mass beginning at 11:00 A. M. on Friday, January 19th, 2024, at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, 4207 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, NC 28215, officiated by Reverend Phillip Scarcella. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens, 8901 Lawyers Road, Mint Hill, NC 28227.
